Motorized Awnings

Our Limited 10-Year Warranty covers the awning hardware, awning fabric and awning motors. Awning accessories are covered separately, for 24 months.

Warranty Coverage

Structural supports: the lateral arms, the square bar, the front valance bar and all other attached supports are warranted not to fail for ten (10) years, provided the components are not subjected to excessive winds or to water pooling on the fabric.

Motors and controls: warranted for 10 years from the date of sale against failure under expected normal use. The warranty is void if the motor or controls have been exposed to excess water, incorrect connection, use other than the intended purpose, acts of God or abnormal conditions.

Fabric: the 10-year warranty covers the fabric becoming non-functional because of loss of dimensional stability from exposure conditions including sunlight, mildew, rot and normal atmospheric conditions. Abnormal or excessive discoloration and fading is covered. It does not cover discoloration from atmospheric pollution or other debris. The warranty does not cover the cost of labor or other consequential or incidental expenses.

Accessories attached to the awning are warranted for 24 months not to fail under normal conditions. Accessories include, but are not limited to: drop screens, side curtains, home automation devices, wind poles and wind sensors.

Materials and workmanship (ABC Screens): Every product ABC Screens sells is covered for 12 months from the original installation date. This covers BOTH the parts and the labor when something goes wrong on its own — the colour fading in the sun, a frame or fabric losing its colour, a component failing, a weld or joint giving way, or a screen coming out of its frame under normal use. It does NOT cover anything broken by an animal or by a person, or damage from an impact, an accident, a storm or a falling tree.

Labor (Delivery & Installation): Covered for 12 months from the original installation date by ABC Screens. Beyond 12 months the manufacturer supplies the warranted part, and the labor, removal, refitting and travel to fit it are charged separately.

Claim Procedure

Contact ABC Screens for service and provide proof of purchase. ABC Screens evaluates and records the reported issue, then reviews the claim with the manufacturer, examining the awning or component if necessary, and replacement components are provided as appropriate under this warranty.

Warranty Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: These awnings are not rain, storm or hurricane rated and are not intended to be used in high winds or inclement weather. An awning should not be left unattended and should be in the closed position when not in use. Awnings are not meant to protect against heavy rain, as water can pool and cause catastrophic failure. Using the awning in any way other than intended renders the warranty null and void.

What Is Not Covered

• Awnings are not designed to be used as carports and are not designed to be installed on moving vehicles. Any damage resulting from either is not covered.
• Any failure or damage of components resulting from intentional or negligent actions by the purchaser or by any other person.
• It is the responsibility of the purchaser or their contractor to securely fasten the awning to studs, joists, headers or other structural members. Damage resulting from the awning falling from its installed position is not covered.
• Labor charges connected with the installation of replacement parts.
• Stretching of fabric, or damage to any structural component, caused by wind, water pooling on the fabric, or any other weather.
• Tears or rips caused by failure to protect the product from sharp objects.
• Wind damage due to leaving the awning rolled out during inclement weather.
• Fabric discoloration or failure due to chemical exposure, including tree sap, bird droppings, leaves, insect or bee sprays and debris.
• Valance damage if left out through the winter months, or from storm damage such as hail. Valances should be removed from the front bar and stored during the off-season.
• Mildew caused by dirt resting on the product, or by the product being rolled up while wet.
• Damage caused by acts of God.
• Any modification or addition to the awning structure, the support system, the electric motor or its wiring, which nullifies this warranty.

Limitations And Exclusions

This warranty is given solely to the original purchaser, and only while the awning remains at its original installed location. It does not apply to: defects caused by modification, misuse, abuse or improper maintenance; defects involving subjective personal likes or judgments; or any purchaser who did not buy the awning from an authorized dealer.

Limitation Of Liability

Obligations are limited to repair or replacement, at our sole discretion, of parts found to be defective under this warranty. In no event shall there be liability for damages of any type, including economic loss, or any indirect, punitive, special, incidental or consequential damages, including time, wages or lost profits, or for damage to or loss of property, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

Any implied warranty, including the implied warranty of merchantability and the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, is limited in duration to that of this express limited warranty, unless a shorter period is permitted by law. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.

No Other Express Warranties

This document sets out the entire express warranty for these awning products, and is controlling over any conflicting terms in any purchase order, contract or invoice. No representation or warranty made by any dealer, agent, representative or employee is binding other than as set out here.

Our Limited Warranty protects your investment and gives you peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy your system for many years.

Warranty Coverage

Hardware — aluminium extrusions: Covered for the lifetime of the home for the original purchaser, provided the product remains installed at the original location.

Electronics — motors, motor controls, remotes, multi-link and smart-home controllers: Covered for 5 years from the date of satisfactory installation under normal use. Warranty is void if the unit is exposed to water, acts of God (e.g. storms, flooding), or abnormal conditions.

Fabric and mesh: Covered for 2 to 15 years from the date of purchase, depending on the fabric you chose. This covers becoming non-functional due to loss of dimensional stability, sun exposure, mildew, rot and normal atmospheric conditions, and abnormal or excessive discoloration and fading. Not covered: discoloration due to pollution, environmental debris, or other external contaminants. Replacement fabric or mesh is provided free of charge; labor and incidental costs are not included in this fabric warranty.

This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser and only if the product remains installed at its original location. This warranty does not apply to: damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or improper maintenance; unauthorized modifications or repairs; subjective issues (e.g., customer preferences); purchases made from unauthorized sellers or third parties; exposure to abnormal environmental conditions beyond what is considered normal use.

Wind Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: ABC Screens motorized screens are not hurricane-rated. They must be retracted in high wind, in line with the manufacturer’s operating instructions supplied with your system. Leaving the system down or extended in high wind will void the warranty.

Limitation Of Liability

ABC Screens’ liability is strictly limited to repair or replacement (at our discretion) of components found to be defective under this warranty. We are not responsible for: indirect or consequential damages; time, labor, or lost profits; property damage; any damages resulting from negligence, misuse, or acts of God.

Any implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the same duration as this express warranty unless a shorter term is required by law.

All Other Products

Window screens, sliding screen doors, retractable and accordion screens, rolling screens, pool and patio re-screens, blinds and shades, and patio builds.

Warranty Coverage

Window screens, sliding screen doors, retractable (accordion / Euroscreen) screens, rolling screens, pool and patio re-screens, and indoor blinds and shades: 12 months from the date of installation, covering fading or colour change of the frame, fabric or mesh, the screen coming out of its frame on its own, smooth operation, and failure of components under normal use.

Patio and aluminum structure builds: 3 years — structurally sound, all screws intact, and the aluminum and screens hold their colour.

Materials and workmanship (all products): Every product ABC Screens sells is covered for 12 months from the original installation date. This covers BOTH the parts and the labor when something goes wrong on its own — the colour fading in the sun, a frame or fabric losing its colour, a component failing, a weld or joint giving way, or a screen coming out of its frame under normal use. It does NOT cover anything broken by an animal or by a person, or damage from an impact, an accident, a storm or a falling tree.

Labor (Delivery & Installation): Covered for 12 months from the original installation date by an authorized ABC Screens Dealer.

This warranty does not apply to: damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or improper maintenance; unauthorized modifications or repairs; subjective issues (e.g., customer preferences); purchases made from unauthorized sellers or third parties; exposure to abnormal environmental conditions beyond what is considered normal use.

Not covered (all products): animal or pest damage; storm, wind, falling-tree or impact damage; bent or dented metal from impact; tears, holes or fabric replacement from accidents; damage from removal, alteration or repair by anyone other than ABC Screens; and normal wear and tear.

Limitation Of Liability

ABC Screens’ liability is strictly limited to repair or replacement (at our discretion) of components found to be defective under this warranty. We are not responsible for: indirect or consequential damages; time, labor, or lost profits; property damage; any damages resulting from negligence, misuse, or acts of God.

Any implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the same duration as this express warranty unless a shorter term is required by law.
